We live in a condo called Reflections.

Reflections is a very green and very well-maintained condo with 17 residential blocks, two swimming pools, two barbecue areas, two golf courses, a clubhouse for events as well as a small supermarket and a shuttle bus to Vivo City that leaves Block 11 every half hour.

We rented our beautiful 100m2 apartment furnished because we are going back to Germany after three years and would then have to sell the furniture again. Our apartment is on the second floor in Block 1.

It has an open living-dining area and an open kitchen. It also has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and two balconies. We had wanted a slightly larger apartment, but that was not possible in the area around the harbor front for the price we set as a limit. The apartment is beautifully bright and the successful room layout makes the most of the space. Unfortunately, the windows in the house are not triple-glazed, so you can hear the street - depending on the wind - even when the window is closed. That is a big minus point.

The location of the condo is brilliant, especially for people who have decided against a car, because it offers everything you need right on your doorstep. From here you can reach two shopping malls, the Harbourfront Mall and the Vivo City Mall, in 10 minutes on foot. Here you can get everything your heart desires: clothing, sports goods, accessories, shoes, electronics, home items, jewelry, groceries and much more.

I go to Vivo almost every day. I get inspiration for new fashions here, drink a vitamin-powered smoothie at Boost and then go shopping at Traid Faire, a huge supermarket. If I have to buy a lot, my legs hurt from walking or it's pouring with rain, I take a taxi home. In Singapore, taxis are not expensive compared to other services, so anyone on average income can treat themselves to a taxi now and then. But there is also the option of taking a bus or taking the in-house shuttle bus that Redflextions offers its tenants ($2.00 for a one-way trip) to get home.

From Vivo City you can reach any location in Singapore, as it is home to the MRT station Habourfront (Singapore Metro), which is connected to the entire MRT line network.

Reflextions is located directly on the water

right next to the marina, Singapore's yacht harbor and a long promenade with lots of palm trees. The marina has a chic boathouse with three nice restaurants.

We sometimes eat dinner here and look at the Singapore skyline.

Sentosa, the fun island with a huge range of entertainment and beautiful beaches, is also just a stone's throw away from us. You can reach it from the harbourfront in 20 minutes by E-train.

In summary, Reflections is a beautiful condo, with a green and very well-kept complex and with many additional amenities that make life here very pleasant.

You really feel like you are on vacation here, which is why the condo is very popular with both expats and locals.

“Style is what you do differently while everyone else is doing the same.” Carolina Herrera

In recent years I have observed that people are becoming more and more extreme in everything they do. Whether it is in nutrition, fashion, politics or sport, everything is painted in black and white.

Either they don't pay attention to their diet and stuff themselves with whatever they want, or they live a completely ascetic life and avoid all sweet and fatty foods. When it comes to sport, there only seem to be two options: you're either a couch potato or a dogged extreme athlete who spends every free minute in the gym. The same applies to clothing. I either wear sloppy or super chic clothes; when it comes to clothing style, there's either the "me too" faction or the crazy individualist.

I wonder where all the moderate people have gone, those who eat healthily but do not forego pleasure, who take the stairs instead of the lift but without a pedometer, and those who know what suits them and what is fashionable and have the ability to combine the two to create their own style?

Are you part of the small minority who have a good sense of fashion and what suits you? Then write to me, preferably with a photo, about what makes up your individual style and help others to find their own style.

I am very much looking forward to your letters!

Don't miss any posts.
